Hip to be Heart Workshop

Have you ever felt emotional in a yoga class?

More than likely it would have been during a hip opening posture.  It can bring you close to tears.

Tightness in our hips aren’t just physical; it’s so much more than physical.  The hips are a place where we store some of our deepest emotions and vulnerabilities.  Feelings of fear, anxiety and sadness can be stored at the hips, until we bring them to the surface and allow a release they can tighten and suppress emotions both physically and in our lives.  Hips store stress, anxiety and trauma.  It becomes a clenching feeling which expresses itself through our anatomy like tightness in the quadriceps, inner thighs, hamstrings, lateral rotators, and psoas. In fact, lower back pain often stems from tight hips and buttocks muscles.  In the physical this is a result of sitting too much at our desks, in front of the television and in our cars.  In the emotional it is suppressed experiences which have not yet been released.

This workshop is designed to open your hips, feel into your heart and understand the relationship between heart and hips.  It is designed to build strength and flexibility and develop a deep feeling of relaxation in your body.  This workshop will evoke peace, balance and rejuvenation, a great way to destress, tune into inner balance and harmony.  If you are ready to release your hips and feel more freedom by moving from your centre with fluidity, grace and awareness then this workshop is for you.

~ yoga practice to support, strengthen and release hips
~ breathing practice to connect with inner body
~ meditation to move from your centre with awareness
~ restorative yoga to feel harmony and restoration in your body, mind and life


About the Facilitator:  

Romina Di Federico is an internationally accredited Yoga and Meditation teacher and is recognised and respected as one of Yoga Australia’s senior yoga teachers. Romina has been practicing yoga for the past 20 years and has been teaching since 2004.

Romina is the creator and director of Inhale Life CBD and Western Suburbs a home for local communities to connect, grow and learn the traditional practices of Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda.

In all her work Romina is passionate about authentically helping you to transform and open your heart and mind to all that is possible through the practice of yoga.

Currently based in Sydney, Romina runs regular workshops, private and corporate sessions and small group classes specialising in the fusion of traditional practices of Hatha Yoga.  Romina also facilitates retreats in Australia & India.  You can find out more at www.inhalelife.co.
