Introduction to Yoga Therapy

Therapeutic yoga is where we look at the whole system which includes body, mind and breath. Various yoga practices can help heal body and mind by simultaneously triggering healing effects on different levels of our kosha’s (5 individual layers of Self). We also draw upon the wisdom of Ayurveda (healing science of India), yoga and Ayurveda philosophy combined gives us a road map to the origin of any imbalances or dis-ease in the body.
In this workshop you will understand basic principles of yoga philosophy and over view of Nadis (energy channels), Chakras (7 spiritual energy centres in the human body), Koshas, Introduction to Ayurvedic approach to health Yoga and philosophy’s approach towards: stress reduction, calming the mind and digestion issues. You will explore tangible and fundamental tools to manage the effects of stress.
Understand the philosophy of therapeutic yogic practices for the individual can bring amazing benefit. These practices are asana (yogis physical posture), pranayama (regulation of breath through certain techniques and exercises), meditation, guided relaxation.
This is the perfect workshop for yoga practitioners, teacher trainees and any student ready to learn more about the therapeutic principles of yoga.
