What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a basic human ability to be fully present, aware of what we think, feel and what we do, it is the faculty of consciousness and thought.

While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice on a daily basis.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thoughts and emotions, you’re being mindful. There is growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you’re actually remodelling the physical structure of your brain.

The goal of mindfulness is to wake up to the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes.

What is meditation?

Meditation is witnessing the mind.  Your head doesn’t become free of thought or utterly undistracted when you meditate.  Meditation is the practice of turning one’s attention to a single point of reference. It can involve focusing on the breath, on bodily sensations, or on a word or phrase, known as a mantra. In other words, meditation means pivoting away from distracting thoughts and focusing on the present moment.  You can say the practice of meditation encourages a state of deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent.

Mindfulness meditation asks us to suspend judgment and unleash our natural curiosity about the workings of the mind, approaching our experience with warmth and kindness, to ourselves and others.

How do I practice mindfulness and meditation?

Mindfulness is available to us in every moment, whether through meditations and body scans, or mindful moment practices like taking time to pause and breathe when the phone rings instead of rushing to answer it.

Our Mindfulness Meditation 6 Week Course ONLINE & IN PERSON  is a comprehensive course which provides you with the tools, understanding and learnings to the science of deep relaxation, how to manage stress, anxiety and how to calm the nervous system.  You will experience deep mental clarity, how to access your peaceful mind and feel full of energy.

All you need is a sincere desire to open your heart and mind to the present moment.

Mindfulness is a non-judgmental approach to paying attention to the present moment.  By practicing mindfulness you can change the way you think about your experiences and therefore cope more effectively with everyday stress, including anxiety, chronic pain or mild depression.

Mindfulness Meditation Course details:

Course duration: 6 weeks
Weekly Thursday’s
Start Date: 6th May
End Date: 10th June
Times: 8pm – 9pm
Where: Online & in person at Inhale Seaforth

Meditation is an experiential practice. To experience meditation the participant requires commitment to regular home practice. In order to truly understand and develop your ability to meditate – you must DO IT.

Who can attend this course?

This course is open to meditators who have previously attended Inhale Life Yoga & Meditation Fundamentals Courses or those who are beginners to meditation and who have not attended these courses, but who have practiced some meditation.

Cancellation Policy:

Registration and payment is required prior to course commencement to guarantee your place and payment in part or full confirms your place on a course and is therefore non-refundable.

Mindfulness Meditation (6-week course): We appreciate that sometimes ‘life gets in the way’ and if you unexpectedly miss one class in the six-week course, we will always offer you the opportunity to attend that same missed class in a future course.

Course Cancellation

All courses/workshops will be held when there is a minimum suitable number of students. Should the minimum number not be reached, all registrants will be contacted and offered the opportunity to register for the re-scheduled course, or receive a full refund 100% of payment received.

Cancellation

Should you have to cancel the course booking and not able to transfer to a future course there will be a $50 administration fee if cancelled 2 weeks prior to start date, there after this course is non-refundable.  We do our best to take into consideration each individuals circumstances.
