Restorative Yoga & Sound Healing Workshop

Restorative yoga balances a fast lifestyle and has an enormous capacity to heal physical and mental symptoms that are stress related, and as we know, many diseases these days are stress related.
When the pace of life is fast, our minds move fast, too. When we are also attracted to a strong, fast-moving yoga practice, we can easily overstimulate ourselves — and our nervous system takes the beating. We may end up feeling easily overwhelmed, tired, with a racing mind. We get sick quicker and more often. Taking the time to support your mind and body with a restorative yoga practice can benefit greatly.
Join Kelsey (AAYT certified yoga therapist) in this two hour workshop to shed layers of tension, release mental stress and reconnect to yourself. This divine session includes relaxing restorative yoga poses, chanting and the healing sounds of Tibetan singing bowls. As you ease into each posture, feel yourself enter into a deeper state of peace, calm and clarity.
Restorative yoga uses props and blankets to support your body as you soften into gentle, long held, postures. It is a healing practice that moves us out of fight or flight, freeze stress response and into relaxation. When we are relaxed, our bodies repair and our systems restore. We feel whole again.
Chanting and singing bowls are both ancient modalities that create energetic sound resonance and physical vibration within us. When we chant, we release dopamine (the feel good chemical) in our brain. Singing bowls generate a similar feeling of serenity and contentment.
This session will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and restored with a sense of balance in all aspects of your being – body, mind, spirit and life. Experience the new strength in Restorative Yoga.
Meet the facilitator:
Kelsey Hendrickson is a Hatha Yoga and Meditation teacher with a bachelors degree in psychology and is a AAYT (Australian Association of Yoga Therapists) certified Yoga Therapist.
A note from Kelsey:
I am a recovering New Yorker and stress head. I used to work in corporate marketing and had a serious addiction to being busy.
After discovering yoga, I found a resilience that gave me the strength to let go of my old life. I turned what I love into a career. Since 2012, I have been guiding other people on their inward journey. As I have personally seen the tremendous healing power of yoga, my passion is helping people to manage stress, anxiety and other health issues. I personalise the tools of yoga – movement, breath work, meditation – to help you relax into a sense of self awareness and compassion.
Through a deeper sense of self, the process of long-lasting healing can begin.
